7/30/10:
New video from Scintilla: "And Now, a Word From Our Sponsors",
which premiered a month ago at Anime Expo 2010
(won Best in Show!)
and Japan Expo International 2010
(won the audience vote!), and
is seeing its East Coast debut this weekend at Otakon 2010.
Code Geass supplies the Pizza Hut product placement, DJ Ötzi makes a hit out of a song you might
have sung at summer camp, and it all comes together in this AMV.
Available as an MP4 (x264/AAC) or an AVI (XviD/MP3).
7/26/10:
What's up, people?! Aquiline Studios is coming to Otakon 2010
starting this Thursday in Baltimore, MD -- and we've both got new AMVs in the finals of the
AMV contest this year, both in the Comedy category! Scintilla's will be available for download right here,
starting Friday night after the first contest screening; Cyanna's should be up shortly after the con.
So watch this space for updates!
If you're going to Otakon, you'll be able to catch us at the Ten Funniest AMVs of All Time
panel, at 10:30 on Saturday morning; and then, of course, we'll be at the Iron Editor at
8:30 Saturday night. We'd love to see you there!
5/14/10:
Been a while since the last update; I thought I should let everybody know that we feel
fantastic and we're still alive.
Last October, Cyanna's 9-minute-long epic classical video
"La Cane de Feu" took 1st place in the Romance category
at AnimeUSA 2009! It was the first
time AnimeUSA's contest had allowed videos that long, and the success of this one convinced
the coordinator to similarly do away with the video time limit for the AMV contest at
Otakon 2010.
The summer con season is once again drawing nigh; as usual, we'll both be attending
AnimeNEXT (June 18-20, Somerset, NJ)
and Otakon (July 30-August 1, Baltimore, MD), and we may or may not have new videos at these
-- it depends on whether we can get them done in time...!
9/15/09:
Only two more days until Anime Weekend Atlanta 15
in Atlanta, GA! And for the first time ever, we'll both be there!
This con will mark the premiere of a new video from Cyanna,
"La Cane de Feu", which was entered into the AWA
Professional AMV Contest (we won't know if it won anything until we get there!).
It's very much a story video, and owing to the music (suite from The Firebird),
it runs over nine minutes. Be aware, though, that it contains HUGE SPOILERS for
the end of Princess Tutu.
Also, my sincere apologies for not getting this up sooner, but we finally
have up Cyanna's other recent video that premiered back in June at
AnimeNEXT.
"The Live" (BECK/Journey) was the runner-up in its category
there, and just last week it went on to win an Asuka Award at
Nan Desu Kan 2009!
7/22/09:
The website has now been clean for a week. The attackers' IP range has been
blocked, the FTP account used for the initial attacks has been deleted, and
there have been no unauthorized logins since these steps were taken. It all
just goes to show you the value of regular malware scans... and not using FTP
programs that store your passwords unencrypted (like FileZilla, apparently).
Also, we're back from Otakon, where Scintilla's video
"Love Love *SNAP*" won first place in
the Upbeat/Dance category, with 34.7% of the vote. Whoohoo!
7/15/09:
IMPORTANT UPDATE: IF YOU VISITED THIS WEBSITE IN THE PAST WEEK, PLEASE CHECK YOUR SYSTEM
FOR MALWARE. It was brought to my attention that my site had been flagged as suspicious, and checking
the files revealed four pages that had had malicious code added on 7/10/09 without my knowledge.
The correct versions of all four of these have just been restored, but the
attacks have not completely stopped yet. I will update this page when I am
sure we are in the clear.
On a lighter note, there are only five days until Otakon. Are you ready?
6/12/09: New video from Scintilla: "Love Love *SNAP*", premiering this weekend at AnimeNEXT 2009, at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ. It's an fun upbeat little introduction to the cracky goodness that is Magical Witch Punie-chan (Dai Mahou Touge), a series that sends up the magical girl genre. Available as an MP4 (x264/AAC) or an AVI (XviD/MP3).
