Potentilla fruticosa
potentilla, shrubby cinquefoil, bush cinquefoil

Notes:

Now known (at least by some authorities) as Dasiphora fruticosa, but listed under this name because nurseries have not caught up.

Long flowering period. Red/orange/pink-flowered cultivars bleach in full sun. Very twiggy.

Intolerant of heat and humidity; not recommended south of the cooler parts of Sunset zone 32.

Dove/Woolridge relegated this plant to their secondary list, but the only bad thing they had to say about it was that it wasn't as ornamental as the plants on their primary list.
