Notes:

Not recommended north of Sunset zone 32 (they claim hardiness to -5°F) and USDA zone 7.

Native to drier woodlands than other native azaleas.

Noted for strong lemony fragrance. Unlike R. austrinum, blooms as the leaves develop, so the effect is not as showy.

All parts highly poisonous.
