Hybrid between Gordonia lasianthus and Franklinia alatamaha.

Not recommended north of USDA zone 7.

Drops some leaves; those that stay turn red-purple in winter.

Best with mid-afternoon shade in hot climates, but may be best in full sun in the northern part of its range. Prefers highly organic soil.
