Distylium myricoides
blueleaf isu tree, distylium

Notes:

Besides the species, this entry serves as a catch-all for the various Distylium hybrids in commerce.

Most selections are hardy only to USDA zone 7, except for 'Vintage Jade' which goes to zone 6b.

'PIIDIST-II' (Blue Cascade) is compact and spreading with bronze-red new growth. 'PIIDIST-I' (Emerald Heights) stays blue-green through winter and may serve as a substitute for Prunus laurocerasus 'Schipkaensis'. 'Vintage Jade' is spreading with layered branching and hardier than the others.
