Choisya ternata
Mexican orange, Mexican mock-orange
Notes:
Sunset recommends this one only to zone 31, while NCSU in particular warns that 5°F or lower can cause defoliation.
Fast-growing when young. Sunset asserts long bloom period. Even beyond that, deadheading may induce sporadic rebloom.
'Lich' (Sundance) has chartreuse/yellow foliage and therefore may burn in full sun but is otherwise almost as vigorous as the species. If anyone can point me to a source on its hardiness relative to the species, please let me know.
Sources: Missouri BG, NCSU, Dirr, Sunset.
