Arbutus unedo
strawberry tree

Notes:

Sunset recommends only to the warmer parts of zone 32; other authorities' recommendations range from USDA zone 7a (which would typically extend farther north) to only USDA zone 8b.

NCSU and Missouri BG claim (mild) fragrance, but the others either deny or do not mention it.

Due to the fruit's unusually long ripening period (almost a year), this tree can be in bloom and in fruit (which is showy) simultaneously.

'Elfin King' is a dwarf and flowers/fruits abundantly and nearly continuously.
