Amelanchier × grandiflora
apple serviceberry

Notes:

Light shade and noninvasive roots facilitate underplanting. Especially effective against dark background. Suckers less than A. canadensis and A. laevis.

'Autumn Brilliance', the most popular, is more vigorous than most, selected for good orange-red fall color. 'Cole's Select' is very similar. 'Princess Diana' is slightly shorter and wider, bright red in fall. 'Robin Hill' has pale pink flowers and is a slower but more upright grower; 'Rubescens' is similar.
