AKA F. fortunei. Also, the spelling of the specific epithet "philliraeoides" is a misspelling, as the name refers to the genus Phillyrea.

Leaves hold late.

Foliage effect is similar to bamboo, at least from a distance. Makes a good background plant even if short on ornamental merits in its own right.
