Tolerates much heavier soils than C. florida (in fact, considered an indicator plant for heavy clay) and is generally easier to grow. Sand tolerance, on the other hand, is debated (Cal Poly vs. USDA), as is general life span (Odenwald/Turner vs. USDA).
