Notes:

More upright and open than most hawthorns. Not for use near paved areas due to fruit litter, but fall leaf litter is minimal, hence the dueling tags.

Taprooted. More resistant to rust than C. crus-galli and C. stipulacea. Takes pruning well.

Flower odor is debated; only Missouri BG saw fit to mention it.
