The fact that this deciduous groundcover is listed in UFL's system as suitable for use as a Christmas tree should help underscore the importance of using multiple sources whenever possible, which is the main reason I built this database in the first place.
Holds leaves late in autumn (good for groundcover usage, I would think).
The impression I get is of one of the most culturally adaptable woody plants in this whole database, and native too. However, despite being native, yellowroot is listed by Doug Tallamy as supporting no butterfly/moth larvae.
