Notes:
Formerly known as Q. prinus.
Water and nutrition improve form and growth rate. Intolerant of clay. Good for poor, rocky soils. Easier than other oaks to transplant (and more attractive too) but needs deep soil. Allow room for a thick eventual trunk and root flare.
Rated superior in Auburn University's shade tree trials.
