Not recommended for Sunset zone 37 (stops at 34 and 39).
Root pruning recommended in the nursery due to the coarse root system. Does not handle sudden release well; branches may grow too rapidly when sun exposure is increased suddenly, necessitating reduction pruning to prevent breakage.
Clay tolerance is debated (JerseyYards.org and NCSU vs. USDA).
Considered not very ornamental by Missouri BG.
