Notes:
AKA P. kaempferi. Resembles Larix spp., but suitable for warmer and more humid regions (though correspondingly less hardy) and having fewer pest/disease problems.
Fall color is "magnificent" but brief before needles drop. Dirr/Warren claim moderate to fast growth, but everyone else says slow. Easy to transplant during dormant season.
Intolerant of clay except on a slope.
