Notes:

Particularly slow grower, but apparently attractive in youth. Needles in fives persist up to five years. Taprooted. UFL claims lower branches die easily, but all the photos I have seen would seem to contradict this.

Not for use near paved areas due to litter.

Prefers cool summers. Resistant to white pine blister rust.
