Magnolia × loebneri
Loebner magnolia

Notes:

Blooms at 3-4 years. Sensitive to late frosts. Considered more tolerant of alkaline soils than most magnolias.

'Merrill' is noted for prolific flowering, dense habit, and greater cold hardiness. 'Leonard Messel' is smaller, with more frost-tolerant flowers.
