Not recommended for Sunset zone 37 (stops at 34), except for var. stenocoma, which is stiffer in its branching and does not broaden on top with age like the species. That said, if the deodar cedars and Atlas cedars can survive to maturity around here, there's no reason these cedars should not also be able to; Dirr claims that this is the hardiest Cedrus species.
Dense narrow pyramid in youth, irregularly spreading and open with age. Difficult to transplant due to taproot and few lateral roots.
