Sometimes still seen as Thuja orientalis.
Foliage sprays are vertical and flat; UConn states they "emit an odor" when bruised, which I interpret as a bad one, but Dirr/Warren state explicitly "not aromatic when bruised". Not for natural or informal landscapes. Only suited to clay soil if on a slope. Branch strength is debated.
