Prodigious pollen producer. Not recommended for Sunset zone 37 (stops at 34), but there are many mature specimens in the New Jersey Piedmont that put the lie to this.
Open and fast-growing in youth, gets denser and slower with age. Branches may need pinching in youth to keep them from getting too long and heavy.
Wind tolerance is debated (Stoecklein vs. NCSU).
Difficult to transplant, so plant from containers.
