Calocedrus decurrens
incense-cedar, California incense-cedar

Notes:

Not a true cedar (that would be Cedrus).

Grows faster once established. Difficult to transplant and needs deep soil. One of the only conifers I have seen with favorable fire resistance.

'Aureavariegata' has some sprays completely green and some completely yellow. 'Berrima Gold' is yellow in summer and orange in winter. 'Maupin Glow' has more green in the interior than 'Berrima Gold', but resists burning exceptionally well for a yellow-leaved plant.
